How to make Aloo Palak Recipe

First of all preheat a pan or wok and add oil in it.

Once the oil is nicely hot (if the oil moves very loosely on the surface of the pan or wok without too much sticking to it then it is nicely hot) then add cumin seeds and mustard seeds in the oil and fry it.

It is important to fry the seeds properly, if you don’t then it will provide its raw flavour in the recipe which we don’t want.

Once the seeds started crackening then its the sign that they are nicely fried.

Now add ginger-garlic paste, saute it well and cook for a minute until its raw flavour fades away.

Now immediately add onion because it will stop seeds from burning out. Now fry the onions properly for couple of minutes until it turns translucent.

Now add potatoes, tomatoes and also add a little salt and saute well and let it cook couple of minutes.

Now add red chilli powder and turmeric powder and saute well.

Now add water, cover the pan and let it cook for 8 minutes.

After that add spinach and saute well.

Now add salt and saute well again. Here remember that you have already added a little salt so add salt accordingly.

NOTES

  • As we have to use boiled aloo in this recipe don’t use over boiled potatoes or it will get too mushy at the end of the recipe as we have to cook it during the recipe as well.
  • I have tried to make it as simple as possible but if you want to make it more spicy the you can add 1 tbsp of garam masala as well with other dry spices.
